9321695 protecting planet Innovative protection that meets the highest quality requirements At the Eyewear centre of expertise, we focus on combining safety, comfort and sustainability. The use of recycled and bio-based materials must not compromise the protective properties of our products — a challenge that we have successfully met. Suitable materials have been selected and carefully incorporated into selected uvex bestsellers. For example, the uvex hypervision planet contains 35% recycled material in the frame, achieving a recycled content of 24% in accordance with ISO 14067. Furthermore, the cellulose acetate lens is made of 42% bio-based materials. Compared to the previous model, the weight has been reduced by 10% — saving material and conserving resources. Plastic-free, recyclable packaging reliably protects the product during transport. Sustainability at uvex safety Material Products featuring this symbol contain bio-based materials, materials that can be composted at home or recycled materials. Recycled materials covers both post-consumer recycling materials (PCR) and post-industrial recycling materials (PIR). Circular economy Products featuring this symbol are, for example, designed to last for a particularly long time, recyclable, intended to be used a second time or able to be repaired. Packaging Product packaging featuring this symbol is made of, for example, 100% recycled materials or materials that can be composted at home. Carbon footprint We calculate the product-specific greenhouse gas emissions using the methods set out in the ISO 14067 standard. The EN166/170 standard requires safety eyewear to provide UV protection up to 380 nm. The latest scientific findings show that this is not enough. Perfection in every detail The patented lens technology makes it possible to integrate two progression zones for near vision on the inside of the duospherical single lens safety spectacles. The correction strength at the bottom of the lenses is +1.0 or +2.0, depending on the model. A distinctive feature and unique selling point is that the patented manufacturing technology means the front area and consequently the base curve of the lenses are not altered. This combines extremely good coverage and fit, all the way to the edge, together with the benefits of a progressive lens on the inside area.
